Jessica Michek
Manager, Learning & Development
Jessica Michek is the Manager of Learning & Development in the Programs unit at Equal Justice Works.
Jessica brings more than a decade of experience in education, public service, and humanitarian work, and a passion for crafting impactful learning experiences that support individuals serving vulnerable and underserved communities.
Before joining Equal Justice Works, Jessica served at the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance. There, she managed training programs on international humanitarian assistance and disaster response for U.S. government personnel, while also leading internal capacity-building initiatives for USAID staff. During her tenure, she also deployed on both Washington, DC- and field-based disaster response teams addressing humanitarian crises in Northern Ethiopia, Sudan, and Gaza. In these roles, she collaborated closely with U.S. and international partners to coordinate and deliver life-saving aid.
Earlier in her career, Jessica worked as a Policy Analyst at the Bipartisan Policy Center, where she conducted research and developed policy recommendations on a range of national security issues, including U.S.-Turkey relations, Iran’s nuclear program, and countering violent extremism.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Politics from Oberlin College, where she was awarded the John D. Lewis Memorial Prize for Excellence in International Politics.
