Seb Nazary
Director of Grants Management
Seb Nazary is the Director of Grants Management at Equal Justice Works, where he brings together expertise in business development, fundraising strategy, and financial planning to strengthen the organization’s mission-driven work. He leads efforts to design and implement innovative fund management systems, align financial strategy with program growth, and steward complex grant portfolios with an emphasis on sustainability, compliance, and impact.
Previously, Seb served as Director of Finance and Operations at Equal Justice Works, leading financial planning and analysis, modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and operational strategy. Earlier in his tenure, as Senior Grants Manager in the Fellowships Unit, he managed a diverse portfolio of federally funded and privately sponsored programs. In this role, he designed and implemented streamlined systems for fund management in compliance with federal acquisition and assistance regulations and financial accounting standards board rules while also authoring manuals, standard operating procedures, and compliance protocols.
Before joining Equal Justice Works, Seb managed over $33 million in funds across international nonprofit organizations including CARE International, Development Alternatives Inc., Creative Associates International, Social Finance, and the Boulder Institute of Microfinance. His work spanned financial management, compliance, and reporting for large- and mid-scale grants focused on governance, community development, economic growth, and microfinance. These programs were supported by leading donors such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Mastercard Foundation, among others.
A Fulbright Scholar, Seb holds an M.A. in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis International Business School and a B.A. in Economics from Kabul University.
