Ramiah C. Johnson is a third-year law student at the University of Mississippi School of Law in Oxford, Mississippi. She currently serves as Lead Staff Editor of the Mississippi Space Law Journal and is actively involved as a member of the Constance Slaughter-Harvey Black Law Students Association and Blacks Against Tobacco, a community outreach group. Ramiah’s advocacy extends beyond the classroom, exemplified by her dedication to empowering underserved communities through her legal education and extracurricular commitments.

Ramiah is deeply committed to offering legal assistance to underserved communities, with a strong emphasis on tax law and advancing the public good. During her first-year summer, she interned for the Honorable Judge James E. Graves Jr. at the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, where she honed her skills in legal research, drafting memoranda, and interpreting complex legal issues. In her second-year summer, she was a Rural Summer Legal Corps fellow at North Mississippi Rural Legal Services’ Low-Income Legal Tax Clinic, assisting clients with intricate tax challenges and ensuring their rights were upheld. Her ability to navigate tax regulations and advocate effectively for favorable outcomes reflects her commitment to public service.

In 2021, Ramiah graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. She remains driven to apply her education and experience to uplift and advocate for those in need, with a goal of showing that justice is accessible and equitable for all.
